Hi -- BobbyCato here, while I am usually not shy about writing, I will tell you, I am not a big fan of about pages. Recently I have noticed a lot of 404’s where people are searching for my “about” page. In order to stop the chain from braking, I figured I will put one here for those looking.
Another reason I don’t like about pages is simply because I enjoy being in the back ground. I love blogging and writing for this particular purpose. These type of pages have always seemed to be an area of the blog where the blogger brags about themselves.
I must warn you up front, when I tell you about myself below, just remember that I’m honestly not trying or highlight my accomplishments on purpose … although that’s exactly what I’ll be doing. It’s just something most people want to read about, so here goes…
Humble Beginnings to Internet Mastery
1998, my wife Helen and I bought out a failing ISP and webhosting company, and started up Ultra Internet as a local internet service provider and web hosting company. This where I became a webmaster. Helen taught me html, but I really enjoyed working server side. We didn’t have control panel back then, I work using Apache server, creating cron jobs, uploading files and trouble shooting and repairing the servers and network when the need arose.

We closed up shop in 2001, after we found that it wouldn’t be worth diving into high speed which would have cost 5 times the amount the business was bringing in a year. We sold our business and went back into work force.
Since I did not write inside of any of my books they were in new shape. I took photos and wrote out descriptions and place them for sale. After running out of stock I started purchasing ten cent books and upward of fifty cent hardbacks and kept flipping books for huge profits.
Then I noticed other sellers were making more on their books with the same title and same condition as I was selling. I reached out to several sellers asking what their secret was. It took almost a year to hear back from one of the sellers and his email just stated study copy writing.
Hey, I loved writing and this sure was right up my alley. I was personally mentored by Ben Hart, for about three years inside of his membership site "21st century marketers." Still selling books and being a service plumber I began applying direct response marketing and copy writing to all of my ads and content.
How I got into Internet Marketing (IM)
On February 20th 2004 at approximately 5:00PM, I was involved in a nasty head on accident. I was flown from the scene to the hospital where I under went surgery to fix a broken bowel. While recovering at home after a few weeks with no income coming in I was on eBay and found that a lot of my books were actually selling for more than I bought them for.Since I did not write inside of any of my books they were in new shape. Then I started blogging in 2005, with my first self hosted WP blog BCH Plumbing dot com.I set up my service blog to get local prospects by using the usual List Building Techniques and when I left the plumbing industry for good in 2010 and went full time as an internet marketer and freelance blogger, I used the blog as a local lead generator and sold leads to other plumbing companies.
Multiple Streams
Since 2006, I became a fan of Robert Allan's books “Multiple streams of income.” I enjoy, affiliate marketing, blogging, writing as a freelancer, but my main stream is in web-mastering.
