Master of One: Show-Stopping Traffic





Today let’s talk about the power of one. No this is not going to be a pep talk or a self-help post.

It will help you succeed in getting more traffic to your website. That is for those who take my advice you’ll notice in a short time a tremendous increase in traffic to your website.



Back in the 90’s, I owned a Ford SHO. It had a V turbocharged engine with leather heated seats, an awesome pioneer stereo system and came in a metallic blue. This thing was built for speed, although I didn’t have a need for speed it was nice to know that I had the power under the hood. I can only remember using its power only twice and both had to do with stop lights…

I was on my way to work and was stopped at a light. When the light turned green I started to go. That’s when I noticed a black truck speeding toward me from my right side. The driver of the truck must have been in a hurry because he sped up when his light turned yellow and after a few seconds went red. I bet he thought he would make the light before it turned red.

I was barley doing 5 miles an hour and suddenly had to apply the gas pedal to the floor and pray under my breath that black truck didn’t t-bone me. That would have been pretty bad for me. But that V8 revved up and the turbo charger started to whine and then that SHO took off like a rocket. I left a good 10-foot black stripe down the asphalt street.
The good news that black truck misses me by 5 seconds. 

The bad news by the time I got to the next stop light my rear tire blew. Fortunately, I was prepared had a spare tire and a jack in the trunk of the car. Another positive was the driver of that black truck pulled in behind me to help. After a lengthy apology, he put the spare tire on for me and handed me his business card.

Can you guess what he did for a living? He was the manager of a tire shop across the street from where I was working. And guess what? He bought me a new tire to boot.

 I guess you can chalk this all up to luck. There is a marketing message here as well.

You see that tire shop manager had a product that I needed, so he automatically had a prospect for his product, but it was through an unfortunate incident that he was able to promote his line. Even though he gave me a new tire, I bought another to match and over the years I still go to that tire shop.

As a website owner, you need exactly those three things that I mentioned above hopefully without all the drama.


* Products.
* Prospects.
* Promotion.



The Show-Stopping Traffic Principle





Here is the NECESSARY principle for effectively bringing more traffic
to your website...

In order to see results from any traffic strategy, you will need to focus on only one and master it.
       

Can you buy pay per click ads and get traffic?  Yes.]
  
How about writing and distributing guest blog posts?  Yes. 

Can you optimize your website and content for search engine traffic? Yes. 

 Do you know how to use social media to drive traffic to a website?  Yes.. 

 Can you drive traffic from viral report, videos or podcasts? Yes. 

Should you do them all at the same time? No


The best and most "effective strategy" for getting more traffic to your website is one that you like doing.
Then once you find that strategy practice it until you have mastered it.

That's how you get traffic.  

A lot of traffic. 

Pick ANY of the strategies I mentioned above or from any of the posts on this site.  

Learn it.  

Practice it.  

Master it.

There is power in ONE.  Find ONE way to
get traffic and learn it, practice it, master it.

They all can work if you choose one and master it.

None of them will work very well if you choose them all.

Stop trying multiple ways to get traffic.  

Master one of them and then add in one additional traffic sources that you like.

Then master that one.

Are you tired of trading time for dollars? Spend more time doing what you like to do? If so you’re about to discover how to have your own money making website. Having your own website, over time, could replace your current income and free you from the bondage of working for someone else making them rich.

 You need to consider if you want an html brochure static site or a rich, robust content management site that you can update easily. Let help you narrow this part down.

Html site: An html static site is great if you want to sell digital products of your own creation or resell rights packages. You’ll only need to create 4 or 5 pages and just drive traffic to the site to get prospects into your money funnel.

CMS: Content management system, is a robust easy to use update and manage system. CSM’s are more well known as word press blog platform. You can use the self hosted WP blog as a static site, membership site where people pay for content or an open blog.
Regardless of the type of site you decide to use the rest of this post will show you how to have a money making website.

Your Resource page
One of the best ways and under used strategy of most make money sites is utilizing the use of a resource page. A resource page can be used in many ways depending on your USP.
Example:
·         An eBay blog may have a resource page of products the site owner owns and sells on eBay..
·         An affiliate site may have a resource page of  different related products or services.
·         A product creator may have a resource page of all of the products they have created.
Regardless of the niche a resource page is used to drive curious prospects to sites that will make them money and increase traffic.


Make your site Viral
If you set things up properly on the front end the best way to get a lot of traffic and sells is to think viral. I never set up a site that in some way doesn’t grow on its own. You shouldn’t either. Creating a viral money making site is relatively easy to do. Here is a few ways to do just that.

·         Give Away a $97.00 product that you created just for the prospect signing up to your list.
·         Write a 5 to 7 page report on your niche topic something that is little known and give it away for free for commenting on one of your blog posts, sign up to your list, or follow you on a facebook.
·         Give away a video or audio that shows your prospect how to do something that makes them money. Of course you want to get the prospect on a list first so you can keep marketing to them. Or have them friend, or follow you on social media in order to increase your social signals.

What makes give away viral? If your product is good the prospect will tell others about your website

How to get traffic to your money site
Traffic is your money sites life’s blood. Without traffic no one will ever know that you are on the web. There are two ways to get traffic to your site. One is paid traffic which is fast normally the same day, the other is free traffic, a little slower but traffic that can’t be turn off.

Paid Traffic
There are many ways on the internet to get targeted traffic to your money site.

·         Textual advertising.
       Pretty much like it sounds, you write a classified type ad that links to your money making website. Using a textual advertiser like .txt180 that sends your text ad to phones.

·         Pay per Click. 
       Pay per click advertising is one of the best ways in my opinion to get targeted traffic. If you have ever used a search engine, the ads on the right side bar and at the top of the page usually the first 3 results are pay per click advertising. These are again classified style ads that you bid on or pay a fix price per click or what is normally called a lead.

·         Newsletter advertising. 
      This is a different type of advertising all together. Generally more targeted than Pay per Click because newsletter are niche specific in nature. Cost vary depending on publication size. The type of ad used in newsletters will depend on the publisher. It may be classified style, banners, text, etc.

·         Website advertising. 

      Generally on websites the advertising is usually a 125X125 banner that sits on the side bar. Depending on the site they could use banners, pop ups, slide in ads, footer ads etc. Generally cost more than PPC, or textual ads because these ads sit on the home page of sites. Basically you are renting the space for your ad and provide the banner or content.

Free Traffic

Paid traffic is great but free traffic is even better. With free traffic you can’t turn it off. It is slower to generate but if you continue to use the tactics provided in this post over time you just may get more traffic from these free sources than from paid traffic.

Article directories. 
The basics are you write articles and upload them to article directories such as Ezine articles. If a publisher reads and likes your article they will generally publish it in their newsletter or ezine. You’ll benefit from their subscribers by having a link at the end of the article to your money site. This increases traffic leads and sales.

Guest blogging. 
Guest blogging is similar to writing articles, except you are writing a blog post for a niche specific blog. The blog owner will give you topics to write about that are related to their niche. You will log into their blog and post the article. Again Traffic to your site will come from an author bio box or signature line at the end of the blog post.

SEO. 
Optimizing your money site for search engine traffic is going to be one of the best use of your time. By using medium keywords in the title, sub headings and once or twice for every 100 words of content your page will be crawled by search spiders and listed in search engines. The more good links you have coming into a page the better and the higher the PR the better you will rank.

Blog commenting. 
One of the easiest ways to get a link back to your money site and extra traffic is to comment on blogs that are similar to your money site. Don’t use cookie cutter comments that has nothing to do with the content. Instead be interactive by reading the post and leave a good comment.

Forum marketing.
Like blog commenting you will leave replies one forum threads and even create a thread of your own. Most forums allow you to create a signature line that appears at the end of each comment or post that you create which has a link back to your money site.

Book marking sucks: get them on your list
One of the best ways to get traffic to your money site is by having a list. You’ll need a service such as Aweber or Constant contact. These programs generally cost a monthly fee. Once you have an autoresponder you can create a newsletter to attract potential subscribers to sign up to your list. You can also have subscribers join your list by asking them to receive updates of new posts if you’re running a money blog site.
Either way the autoresponder service you use will have a form that you can place on your site that potential list members can fill out in order to get on your list.

You learned the potential of having a resource page that can drive traffic to your affiliate offerings, and product sites that you sell elsewhere such as eBay.

Then the twitter search genie will show you tweets from people asking that question. Then you reply to their tweet accordingly leaving them a link to your site or have them DM you where you can give them more info and probably your number.

Let's say your product creator and your latest product is all about getting massive traffic. Some one Tweeted and ask how can I get free targeted traffic that is reliable and sustainable? You simply reply with your link to your  traffic course. You may even offer them a discount.



Bam! you just got a new client.
Bam! you just sold a solution to someone's problem and made some affiliate cash.
Bam! you just attracted someone to your list.

FB Traffic Factor 5 ways to get traffic

Social media has been a huge traffic factor online for the last 6 years. Facebook is now one the most popular social media platforms in the world, with over 1.71 Billion profiles, it doesn’t take a genius to conclude that your target audience is going to be hanging out on Facebook.

With that said, let’s go over just 5 ways to drive a hoard of traffic from facebook to your affiliate blog, or squeeze page, so you can dangle that digital carrot in front of them.

1.   Share a link: Depending on whether you want your mom to see your posts on your FB timeline or not it could be as simple as writing a short paragraph and include a link below to  your site for more info.

2.   Create really good content: Find out what your target audience is into, i.e. check out Google trends, Yahoo answers, and do some keyword research for your content. Yah, keywords are going to be your “hyper” words to attract search traffic.

Sorry if this bums you out, but that is how many people find what interests them. Now once you have your content written use facebook’s, “Notes” and share that with your friends. Hopefully, most of them are in your target audience.

3.   Create an attention getting image or Meme: Find an image on your hard drive or purchase one from a stock photo shop (online.) Make sure it is related to your content, you don’t want to have an article about weight loss and have a picture of a plate of mouth watering chicken alfredo.  Add a short sentence, again that teases your target audience with a link this time in the comments back to your blog or squeeze page.

4.    Start an FB Group: Face book wants to be all things to all people. Before web 2.0 (social media site & networks,) the easiest free place to target your audience was forums. Facebook has such a thing as “groups,” that anyone can start. Like a forum, your target audience will flock to it like ant’s to picnic.

5.   Participate in Groups: Join a few groups in your niche, make sure they have a high member count and that your profile is complete and a linked to your site. Read the group description and rules before posting. Then introduce yourself and add a link back to your blog or squeeze page if permissible. 

IIf you participate and are helpful in the groups, you are going to attract several people that are involved in your niche. They will seek you out one of 2 ways.

a.   They will look to the introductions and find your link back to your site.
b.   They will click on your profile image and check out your timeline including your about page which should have a link back to your blog or squeeze page.

Well there you have it, 5 ways to get free targeted traffic from FB to your affiliate site. Or as I like to call it FB Traffic Factor.
